Privacy policy
Just Ask Aly is a studio assistant for independent artists. You upload photos of your artwork, answer a short interview, and our app prepares product listings and social media posts for your review. Nothing is published without your explicit approval.
Just Ask Aly ("we", "us", "our") is operated by The Guest Artist Pty Ltd, registered in Australia under ABN 51 629 385 860. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Your name, email address, business name, country, timezone, and phone number (used to send you review notifications, for example via WhatsApp).
Brand and creative material you provide. Artwork photos and videos you upload; your logo, brand colours, and fonts; voice memos and written answers you give during onboarding and per-artwork interviews; edits you make to drafts we generate.
Connected account data. When you connect a third-party account, we store the access credentials (OAuth tokens) needed to act on your instructions, and only the data listed below:
- Shopify: we create and edit products, collections, and product images in your store. We do not access your orders, customers, payouts, or store settings.
- Instagram and Facebook (Meta): we access your basic professional account and Page information (username, profile picture, account type) to confirm the connection, and we publish the posts you have approved, at the times you have approved. Optionally, with your consent, we read your past posts to help build your writing-style guide. We do not access your direct messages, comments, follower data, or advertising accounts.
- WhatsApp: we send you notifications only.
- Google Drive: we create and write to a dedicated studio folder in your Drive to deliver your finished assets. We do not access any other files in your Drive.
Usage and technical data. Log data about how the app is used (for example workflow runs, feature usage, and errors), device and browser information, and per-account service-cost records used for billing.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the service: preparing listings, generating copy in your voice, creating mockups and post images, and publishing items you have approved to your connected accounts at your chosen times.
- To build and maintain your private brand profile and voice guide, which improve the drafts we generate for you. Your edits to drafts are logged for this purpose.
- To communicate with you: review notifications, service messages, and support.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service, and to calculate billing.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your artwork, voice recordings, or brand materials to train models for other customers or third parties.
3. AI processing
We use third-party AI services to transcribe your voice memos and to generate draft text and select images. Your relevant inputs (for example interview answers, voice-memo transcripts, and your voice guide) are sent to these providers to produce drafts for your review. We use providers under agreements that prohibit them from using your data to train their models.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the app, under contract and only as needed:
- Cloud hosting and file storage providers
- AI text-generation and speech-to-text providers (as in section 3)
- The platforms you have connected (Shopify, Meta, WhatsApp, Google), solely to carry out the actions you have approved
- Payment processors (for your subscription)
We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a business transfer (in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data).
5. Where your data lives and how long we keep it
Your working files, brand profile, and records are stored on secure cloud infrastructure. Access credentials for connected accounts are encrypted at rest. Finished assets are also delivered to your own Google Drive folder, which you control.
We keep your data while your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your personal data, creative files, and connected-account credentials within 30 days, except for records we must retain for legal, billing, or security reasons. 6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@justaskaly.com. If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
7. Disconnecting accounts
You can disconnect Shopify, Meta, WhatsApp, or Google Drive at any time from your settings page, or by revoking the app's access from within those platforms. Disconnecting stops all further access immediately; we then delete the stored credentials for that connection.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, minimum-scope access to your connected accounts, and internal access controls. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will notify you as required by law.
9. Children
Just Ask Aly is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. For material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
